about...

This is the last portfolio of the year and of english highschool experience. I Think that we have worked a lot and I belive that we have learnt to write more fluid and with more variated vocabulary. But it's true that it had been to work because we have done a hard efford to make it nice, correct and to prepare it for the date that it have to be done. Despite of that, In my opinion because I like do it and I like new technologies, it's a work that helps us to improve our level, and our knowledge about blogs and internet comunications. Take care =)

what time is it?

shepherd, farmer. PAU writting

Hello, today in our program we have an interview with the last farmer of Alt Empordà, McDonald, an old farmer, and we are going to know about this profession that is dying.

J: Hello Mr. Mc Donald, can you listen to me right?

Mc: Yes, I can hello Jane.

J: Well, we were telling our audience that the profession of being farmer is dying around the world. What do you think about the future of it?

Mc: Well, it’s not difficult to see that it is true that is dying out and it’s becoming a “hobby” of people that have a little orchard to get some vegetables for themselves. But sadly I believe that the reality is what you say, this profession is dying each day more and more, maybe slowly but it is happening.

J: Yes, so sad. Can you tell us a little bit about this change on the farms and prayers because of technology?

Mc: Hum… So, at nowadays technology is stealing work-places of people but not only in farms also in industries and other kind of works. But in my work, it’s true that with two or three people controlling the machines that feed the animals, or driving agrimotor, it’s not necessary more people to cultivate the land.

J: Do you think that your profession was nicer before or now?

Mc: Maybe, it depends. In my case I prefer to feed my rabbits and my cows, select their food, grass or what they eat, take care about babies and little creatures. And for that reason, I prefer the traditional manners, like before. But maybe, a person who works to investigate technology, to improve the work or the product and the efficiency prefers machines and big industries. What do you prefer Jane?

J: Ha, ha so tricky, Well, I think that you are right, and I would prefer technology but also is nicer the work as it was before. More contact with the animals and maybe more natural. Nowadays lands and food are plenty of chemical products to preserve them.

Mc: exactly Jane, then, maybe in the future, people will come down again and they will start again the human development from working the land until reaching again to machines.

This is all for today, see you in the next program.

What next?
